Recommended Best Practices for On Sale Date Compliance was developed by the On Sale Date Task Force of the Distribution Executives Interest Group, known today as the Manufacturing & Distribution Committee. These best practices enable the simultaneous availability of new releases to consumers from all consumer purchasing sources, including online and bricks-and-mortar retailers. The objective of these best practices is to maintain a "level playing field" for all trading partners so as not to favor one consumer sales channel over another.
