EDItEUR is the international group coordinating development of the standards infrastructure for electronic commerce in the book, e-book and serials sectors. EDItEUR provides its membership with research, standards and guidance in such diverse areas as: bibliographic and product information for the book, e-book and serials sectors; EDI and other e-commerce transaction standards; the standards infrastructure for digital publishing; and rights management and trading.

This course is suitable for beginners with no knowledge of ONIX, although it will also be of value to those familiar with ONIX. It is aimed at staff with management responsibility for metadata, either in editorial, IT, marketing, or production within a publisher, or in similar roles within distribution and retailing. It is not highly technical, but software developers seeking to understand ONIX would benefit from this course.

Graham Bell, executive director of EDItEUR, provides in-person instruction on best practices with respect to its standards in markets around the world. ONIX and Thema training sessions are detailed, interactive, and tailored as much as possible to the questions participants bring to the workshops.
