Data Unpacked: Follow-Up from GBA's Frankfurt Workshop
The Green Book Alliance is an alliance between the Book Industry Study Group (BISG), Book Industry Communication (BIC), and BookNet Canada (BNC) committed to improving sustainability in the book publishing supply chain.
Given the global nature of environmental stewardship and the book publishing industry, it makes sense to collaborate on green initiatives. GBA aims to be a leader and global facilitator in this endeavor.
Founded in September of 2020, all three organizations welcome support from other international bodies that may be interested in contributing. The international GBA grows its agenda in concert with its members and national book communities.
On October 15, 2024, The Green Book Alliance hosted an in-person sustainability workshop in Frankfurt and proposed a set of recommendations to address data collection and reporting for the publishing industry.
A virtual webinar on November 21, 2024, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. EST, will review that proposal, the workshop feedback, and continue the discussion. This is also an opportunity for those working in sustainability in the book industry to connect, ask questions, and flag concerns.
