Warehousing, Distribution, and 3PL

Although results vary by type of publishing, physical formats still account for the majority of books sales. Inventory has to be warehoused, and when orders come in, it must be distributed. A number of publishers are considering the use of third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers to help them meet demand and manage work outside their core competencies.

At this webinar, David Hetherington of Books International will share his perspective and experience with warehousing, distribution, and 3PL planning and management. An industry veteran and former board member for BISG, David serves as a board member of PubWest and the Book Manufacturers Institute. He represents Books International, a printer and 3PL provider, to a wide range of organizations, including the Association of Catholic Publishers, Book Industry Communication, Evangelical Christian Publishers Association, the U.K.-based Independent Publishers Guild, and the Protestant Church Publishers Association
