The United States is preparing for a presidential transition that could change the way tariffs are used with international trading partners. Questions abound, and the answers won't be clear until legislation is introduced, debated, amended, and passed. But, we have been here before, and Lui Simpson, EVP, Global Policy with the Association of American Publishers (AAP), will join this Lunch & Learn to talk about both history and what might follow as the next administration takes office.

Topics to be covered in this conversation include:

  • The process that led to the imposition of the tariffs
  • The book publishing-related HTS codes covered, the exempted lines, and the suspended tariffs
  • Status of the litigation challenging the tariffs; and
  • Possible actions the incoming administration may take

If you're an industry executive looking at the impact of tariffs on costs and pricing decisions, a production executive looking to source capacity from any of the markets likely to be targeted for tariffs, or a manufacturer, distributor, or retailer trying to understand how trade policy may affect your organization, this webinar will provide valuable insight into what is already in place, how tariffs might change, and the potential timelines for shifts in policy.
